Abstract
A femtosecond pulse shaping system is developed using highly efficient phase-only filters. With phase-only filters, the shaping of arbitrary intensity profiles from a femtosecond pulse is achieved. Using the same scheme, the control of both temporal intensity and phase profiles are computer simulated with phase-only filters. Simultaneous shaping of both intensity and phase profiles within ultrashort laser pulses using liquid-crystal spatial light modulator (LC-SLM, CRI:SLM-128-NIR) as the phase-only filter is demonstrated. Frequency-resolved second harmonic generation (SHG) cross-correlation (FRXC) and intensity cross-correlation are used to evaluate chirping characteristics and to measure intensity profiles, respectively.
