    Abstract

We propose a silica-based waveguide collimator that introduces UV-cured resin as integrated multilayered lenses. The collimator is applicable for replacing microlens arrays often used in optical systems containing fiber to free-space interconnects. We fabricated and demonstrated beam collimation with the waveguide collimator. The focal distance achieved is around 6 cm.
