Abstract

Small-sized Mach-Zehnder Interferometer optical switch using Ge 2Sb2Te5 thin films was fabricated. Two thin films of 1-μm-square were sufficient for switching. The switching operation was successfully demonstrated by pulsed laser irradiation.
