Abstract

Issues of global warming and providing safe water are two major global problems. As one of the practical measures for the issues, a new concept on effective utilization of thermal energy is necessary. Space-heating, hot-water-supply, and distillation/concentration heat-pump systems are taken up for the target. A new device using decompression boiling is applied for those systems. The device can work at temperatures near ambient temperature. The new device could have possibility to save large-amount of energy resource consumption. Performance and the stability of the device as an application to solar panel and multiple-effect distillation/concentration systems are reported.
