Abstract
This paper discusses the important language roles used in software development systems. It is favorable for Japanese software engineers to use development support systems based on the Japanese language. This paper first surveys the current state of the art of such systems, and then presents our development systems, the JISDOS with JPSL for requirement specification description and the JIO-Pascal system for program coding. In these systems, formalized languages are proposed with several features specific to Japanese language, such as kanji and kana character sets, the redundancy in reflections, optional words, word orderings, etc. 16 refs.
