South Korea’s Diplomacy in an Era of US-China Strategic Competition

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine the Republic of Korea’s (ROK, South Korea hereafter) diplomacy mainly during the Park Geun-hye and Moon Jae-in administrations, focusing on its efforts to develop a “strategic cooperative partnership” with China while emphasizing its alliance with the US amid the intensifying strategic competition between the US and China.
