Abstract

We propose the spatial mode multiplexer that connects 35 single mode fibers to the 7-core, 5-mode fiber based on multi-plane light conversion. The required phase plate number is 13, the average insertion loss is 3.9 dB, and the maximum crosstalk is -22.7 dB at the center wavelength.
