Spatial Mode Multiplexer for 42 Single Mode Fibers to the 7-Core, 6-Mode Fiber

Abstract

We propose the spatial mode multiplexer that connects 42 single mode fibers to the 7-core, 6-mode fiber based on multi-plane light conversion. The insertion loss is 3.9 dB, and the maximum crosstalk is -8.9 dB.
