Abstract

Summary form only given, as follows. This study analyzes the burstiness of low bit-rate video coding information and proposes a stochastic model to represent varying amounts of video information. Analysis and modeling of information source burstiness is essential for delay calculation and network control. Simple statistical multiplex performance is computer simulated and evaluated. The models accurately estimate packet delay characteristics.
