Abstract
Master-slave manipulators enhance surgeons' dexterity and improve precision of surgical techniques by filtering surgeons' tremor and scaling movements of surgical instruments. We introduced a master-slave manipulator developed by Intuitive Surgical Inc. (Mountain View, CA, USA) to laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, and confirmed excellent maneuverability especially in complex procedures such as suture and ligature.
