Abstract
MgO/TiOx superlattices were synthesized on a MgO substrate for the combination of various thicknesses of titanium oxide layers and MgO layers by a pulsed-molecular-beam evaporation method. Wavelengths of superlattices coincided with calculated ones. The structure of titanium oxide layers and the growth mechanism of the superlattices were determined using the observation of AFM (atomic force microscopy), RHEED (reflection high-energy electron diffraction) and X-ray diffraction.
