Abstract

Soluble poly(cobaltacyclopentadienylene phenylene) was sythesized by the metallacycling polymerization method using (hexCp)Co(PPh3)2 (hexCp = n-hexylcyclopentadienyl) as the starting material. Wavelength of peak edge in its UV-VIS spectra increases with increasing the degree of polymerization, indicating an increase in the average π-conjugation length.
