Abstract

A double optical hard-limiter (OHL) where the OHLs are placed in fornt of and in back of the optical correlator referred to as the first OHL and second OHL, respectively, is proposed to reduce the multiple access interferences (MAI). However, when the interference pulses hit into all weighted position of desired user, the number of optical pulses after the correlation process is the ame as the number of weights. This paper proposes the OOK-CDMA systems with double OHL using the schemes of transmitting the optical pulses with multiple intensities. It is shown that the proposed systems achieve better bit error probability (BEP) than the conventional systems.
