Abstract
The hydrogen fumarate anions in triethylammonium hydrogen fumarate form one-dimensional chains through an O-H..O hydrogen bonding along the c and (a∓b)/2 directions. There are three sites of the hydrogen fumarate, two of which have an inversion center. Investigations have revealed that trans-cis photoisomerization have been in triethylammonium hydrogen fumarate without the occurrence of any photodimerization.
