Abstract

A tunable optical dispersion compensator (TODC) that uses a high-resolution arrayed-waveguide grating and integrated resin lenses is reported. The dispersion tuning range is 1426 ps/nm, three times larger than that in our previous report for the same type of TODC. A transmission experiment using a 43-Gbps carrier-suppressed return-to-zero differential quadrature phase shift keying (CSRZDQPSK) signal is also reported.
