N2 - Bone marrow cells have been suggested to have multilineage plasticity including formation of cardiac tissue. We have established a cardiomyogenic (CMG) cell line from mouse bone marrow stromal cells that can be induced to differentiate into cardiomyocytes in vitro by 5-azacytidine treatment. A number of lines of evidence confirm the cardiomyocyte characteristics of CMG cells.
