N2 - Entertainment movies have not been very commonly used as materials for foreign language learning. There are primarily two reasons: lack of learners' knowledge on what they should study or how they should learn with the movie on their own and difficulties of keeping learners' motivation. Computer supported collaborative learning provides an effective solution. This paper proposes a system called Comment-to-Script System (C2S) that helps learners communicate with others in discussion forum that synchronizes with the movie. The movie scene corresponding to the discussion can be seen at the same time and learners read or make comments to the discussion. By applying the system, we show that the system supports on-line asynchronous collaborative discussion among the learners well and gives Gutwin's "workspace awareness" to the learners constantly during the experimental learning. According to our preliminary analysis, however, the communication among the learners was less active in C2S compared to the learning using a bulletin board, and the number of characters used in discussion was much less in C2S than that of the bulletin board.
