Video traffic optimization in mobile wireless environments using adaptive applications

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new architecture for optimizing the traffic of video streams in wireless mobile environments by providing environmental information locally to the application running on each mobile node. With such information, the application can adapt the quality of video streams.
