Abstract

Waveguide SHG devices were investigated using a novel NLO material isopropyl-4-acetylphenylurea (IAPU). Guided mode-mode and Cerenkov radiation blue SHG were demonstrated using thin film crystals of IAPU as a substrate. For the relaxation of phase-matching conditions and improvements in conversion efficiency, thickness-noncritical phase-matching (TNCPM) technique was introduced in the four-layer waveguide geometry.
