Weak ferromagnetic behavior of Cd1-x-yMnxFeyTe (y ∼ 0.01)

Abstract

Temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility and magnetization curve were obtained for Cd1-x-yMnxFeyTe single crystal. We find weak ferromagnetic behavior only in the sample with x = 0.37 at which the electrical resistivity shows singular behavior. The origin of such weak ferromagnetism would be ascribed to the s-d interaction between the band electron and Fe ion.
