The authors report the case of a 46 year old man who was diagnosed as having a malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFII) that had extended to the intracranial region from the temporal bone. A MFH is the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma: however, it is rarely sited in the head and neck. In this case, despite a wide resection, we could not perform adjuvant therapy because the tumor had rapidly regrown. Early diagnosis, a wide resection, and radiation therapy are very important in the management of this disease.
