The mechanism of oscillation from isomorphism between flow fields or vortex shedding and fluidic flowmeters was explored. The relation between inlet nozzle velocity and oscillation frequency for combinations of geometric parameters was measured using air as the operating fluid. The results, combined with flow visualization studies conclude that the jet deflection from natural reattachment stream flow determines substantially the oscillation frequency. It is shown that the oscillator shares the merits of hydrodynamic oscillator type flowmeters and is applicable to low flowrate measurements. (from English abstract)
