抄録

We propose a shared knockout ATM switch under non-uniform traffic with variable hot-spot ports in order to handle flexibly when the number and port of hot-spot change. In the proposed model systems share a batcher network in order to decrease the total number of switch elements. Moreover, the proposed model has a function that the maximum cell transmission number called a speedup factor L2 is set to be larger than the lower limit of the number of arrival cells L1, i.e, L1<L2. By using this function, it is effective to decrease the cell loss probability of hotspot ports with decreasing accesses to output buffers. We evaluate the cell loss probability by means of computer simulations and numerical calculations, and the number of switching elements.
