Collagen immobilized PVA Hydrogel has been developed as a artificial corneal materials and demonstrated the formation of the corneal epithelium layer on the surface in rabbit model. In this study, to improve the in vivo stability, amniotic membrane hybridized PVA artificial cornea is newly synthesized and evaluated the corneal epithelium formation on the surface using rabbit model. The amniotic membrane hybridized PVA was successfully prepared and it was stable in PBS at least two months. Corneal epithelium was stratification on the amniotic membrane hybridized PVA in in vitro. The amniotic membrane hybridized PVA was completely epithelialized within two weeks and the hybrid artificial corne a kept the transparency. The long-term stability test will be required.
