In this study, multiple regression analysis is applied to the multi-spectral image of the exposed brain model. The reflectance spectra of the images are obtained from optical path length, absorption spectrum of grey matter, oxy-and deoxy-haemoglobin. The distributions of second and third principal components obtained by MRA correspond to the oxygen saturation and blood volume, respectively. Although the present model is much simpler than a real exposed brain, the results suggest the possibility to measure oxygen saturation and blood volume of the exposed brain by multi-spectral analysis. This work is partly supported by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science under a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research No. 13558116, 13750397 and the Okawa Foundation for Information and Telecommunications.

N2 - The light propagation in the exposed brain is modelled and the reflectance spectra of the model are obtained. The multi-spectral image is analysed by principal component analysis and the results are applied to multiple regression analysis of the image of more sophisticated brain model. The results suggest the possibility to measure oxygen saturation and blood volume of the exposed brain by multi-spectral analysis.
