Angular dependence of inverse spin-Hall effect induced by spin pumping: Experimental verification of phenomenological model of spin pumping

The phenomenological model of the spin pumping has been investigated in terms of the polar-angular dependence of the inverse spin-Hall effect induced by the spin pumping in F/Pt thin films (F = Ni, Ni81 Fe19, and Fe). The magnetization dynamics in the ferromagnetic layer drives the spin pumping, which generates a spin current in the Pt layer. This spin current is converted into a charge current via the strong inverse spin-Hall effect in the Pt layer and detected as electromotive force at the edges of the Pt layer. The polar-angular dependence of the electromotive force is well reproduced by a model based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation combined with the phenomenological models of the spin pumping and the inverse spin-Hall effect regardless of the species of the ferromagnetic layer, demonstrating the validity of the phenomenological model of the spin pumping.
