Direct observation of molecular transport between triplet cells via membrane proteins using a microfluidic system

This conference proceeding describes three cells trapping system in which the number and the arrangement of trapping cells can be controlled. First, we demonstrated three cells trapping in desiring order using the parylene slide device in which cells were desirably trapped by hydrostatic pressure when the parylene rail was slid on SU-8 structure and open. Next, we investigated the interaction between trapped cells by this devices using Connexin43 (Cx43) which formed gap junction in cell-to-cell. In this study, we successfully observed the calcein and cytored dye transfer from a donor cell containing fluorescent molecular to acceptor cells via Cx channel.
