Effects of stress rates on corrosion fatigue of Ti-6A1-4V alloy

Effects of stress rates on corrosion fatigue of Ti-6Al-4V alloy were analyzed using anodic potentiodynamic tests. An α+β type titanium alloy was used and annealed at 900C for 4 hours. A platinum auxillary electrode was used as a counter electrode, a saturated calomel electrode as the reference electrode, and the Ringer's solution as the electrolyte. It was observed that passive current density decreased with an increase in the stress rate and pitting potential also decreased with an increase in stress rate.
