In order to improve the stability of protein in vivo, protein/polymer complexes has been employed. Chitosan, the natural polysaccharides, has many valuable properties such as biocompatibility and biodegradability. The conventional protein/chitosan particles were easily destroyed by the pH change and the addition of salt. Therefore we employed cross-linking agents such as genipin and glutaraldehyde and tried to improve the stability of chitosan particles. Characterization of protein/chitosan/cross-linking agent particles was carried out by measurement of particle size and turbidity. The particles cross-linked with genipin showed the high stability under high salt concentration and low pH.
