Fabrication for polymer microchannels with circular cross-sections for bio-chip applications

In this paper, microchannels with circular cross-sections are fabricated using the Mosquito method in order to mimic micro vascular networks. We experimentally confirm that microchannels with a straight line are fabricated when dimethyl siloxane monomer is cured at 45 °C. The diameter of the fabricated microchannels is varied from 54 pm to 581 μm with a circularity higher than 0.98 at any sizes of the microchannels. Finally, liquid flow in the fabricated micro channel is confirmed with a channel diameter of as large as 581 pm.
