A constitutive model is proposed to study the effect of fiber waviness on the elastic properties and nonlinear behaviors of unidirectional composites under tensile, compressive and flexural loadings. In the analyses, the material nonlinearity and geometrical nonlinearity due to fiber waviness are incorporated. Specimens with various degrees of fiber waviness are fabricated. Tensile, compressive and flexural tests are conducted to verify the predictions obtained from the model. Experimental results are in good agreement with the predictions.
