We theoretically study the Kondo effect in quantum dots with two orbitals and spin 1/2, using the numerical renormalization group method. The Kondo temperature TK and conductance are evaluated, changing the energy difference Δ between the orbitals. TK is maximal around Δ = 0 and decreases with increasing Δ. The conductance shows an analogous behavior at a finite temperature, in accordance with the experimental results. We observe a universal curve for the conductance as a function of T/T K, irrespectively of Δ, but not for the partial conductance through one of the orbitals.
