Numerical study for secure communication using chaotic masking method in two microchip lasers

    Recovery of a message embedded in a chaotic waveform was numerically studied and the conditions of recovery were calculated. A schematic layout of chaotic masking method using microchip lasers was presented. An acoustic optic modulator (AOM) was used to encode message components in the chaotic laser output. The transmitted messages were recovered in the low frequency region due to a difference of gain between chaotic and periodic components.
