Performance of interference mitigation scheme for MB-OFDM with Time-Domain Spreading using Adaptive Symbol Skipping

    In this paper, Adaptive Symbol Skipping (AdSS) that is a collision avoidance scheme in multiband-OFDM (MBOFDM) is evaluated. AdSS skips symbol transmission when a transmitter detects a signal from the other piconets. In the earlier work for AdSS, the probability of symbol loss has been analyzed in the case when no Time-Domain Spreading (TDS) is used. However, for the low data-rate modes of the MB-OFDM standard the symbol skipping may not effective because of TDS. Therefore, in this paper, the performance of AdSS for the MB-OFDM system with TDS is evaluated through theoretical analysis and numerical results obtained by computer simulation.
