We demonstrated that the low-noise GI POF can significantly improve data transmission qualities of consumer-friendly MMF links without optical isolators and precise alignments because of its intrinsic strong mode coupling, which also allows for the efficient defocus-launching effects without coupling loss increase. The novel GI POF is paving the way for consumer photonics in the upcoming 4K/8K era. (Acknowledgement: supported by the NEDO)
