抄録

Axial and secondary velocity profiles through a model human central airways were measured to clarify the intermittent oscillatory How structure during high-frequency oscillation. Velocities in the two directions were measured by a two-color lascr-doppler vclocimeter. In the trachca, secondary flow is enlarged at the early stationary phase in both the inspiratory and expiratory phases. This augmentation of secondary flow promotes axial gas dispersion by enhancing cross-stream mixing.
