抄録

Many patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) experience longstanding blepharoptosis. The condition substantially reduces the patient's quality of life (QOL). Blepharoptosis surgery for patients with MG is a good choice of treatment, although only a few reviews have recommended surgery as a suitable treatment for blepharoptosis with MG. The surgery is effective if performed by a trained plastic surgeon or oculoplastic surgeon under appropriate supervision of a neurologist. It is effective especially for patients who have residual blepharoptosis despite multiple medical treatments. The present chapter aims to introduce the author's surgical criteria, procedure decision-making, actual surgical procedures, and precautions for medically refractory myasthenic blepharoptosis.
