In recent years, some researches reveal that there are relationships between cognitive disease and dental health. We expect a potential that a symptom of cognitive disease patients affects the way to brush his teeth. However, the relationship between the way of toothbrushing and that disease is not clear. In this paper, we propose a method of user identification based on toothbrushing information using a three-axis accelerometer, which is the first step for establishment of a method to detect variations of toothbrushing. In our method, we extract 11 features from the information captured by a three-axis accelerometer and use machine learning algorithm for identification. The result of our experiment shows that we can identify users of toothbrushing perfectly.
